# Make this the primary contact

`POST /lokta-lms/api/v1/sourcing-partners/{partnerId}/contacts/{contactId}/primary`

Makes a contact the primary one for a sourcing partner.

Promotes this contact and demotes the incumbent **in one transaction**. Exactly one primary is permitted, so two separate requests would either leave the partner with no point of contact or be refused, which is why this is a verb rather than a PATCH setting a flag. Already-primary is a `422 sourcing/use_primary_endpoint`.
