# Edit a contact

`PATCH /lokta-lms/api/v1/sourcing-partners/{partnerId}/contacts/{contactId}`

Edits a contact of a sourcing partner.

**Null means "leave alone", never "clear".** A form carrying only an email must not erase a phone number it never had a field for. To blank a value, send an empty string.

No `is_primary` here either; use `POST …/{contactId}/primary`.

## Parameters
- `partnerId` (path, string, required)
- `contactId` (path, string, required)
- `Idempotency-Key` (header, string)

## Request body (application/json)
- `role` (string): Null leaves the field alone. An empty string blanks it.
- `purpose` (string): Null leaves the field alone. An empty string blanks it.
